Webcredible and personal data

At Webcredible we are all about trust and honesty - so much so these form two of our core values. These values also reflect how we view your privacy and personal data and each of our people is committed to ensuring that any personal data we hold on you is treated fairly, securely and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We only collect data for legitimate reasons related to our business - relevant to our user experience consultancy services, our training products and recruitment. We won't sell you data to anyone. In the case where you take part in research for one of our clients we may share your data with them but only with your explicit consent ( see 'if you participate in user research' below)

We've outlined in this policy the data that we collect and why. At any time you can get in touch with us at to find out what data we hold on you, why we use it or to ask us to remove it from our records.

What data do we collect?

Whatever we collect, we keep this to a minimum and only ask you to provide data that is relevant. We are as transparent as possible about how we collect, use and store data. Remember, If we don't answer any of your questions, just ask!

If you are our client

As our client you may provide us with personal data so that we can communicate effectively throughout our engagement with you. We may on occasion use this to inform you of other Webcredible products, services and events that may be of interest to you.

If you come on our training courses

If you register for one of our training courses we will collect personal data to ensure that we know who is attending our courses, to contact you regarding any changes to the training schedule and to keep in touch about future training courses and other Webcredible services. We'll use this information on an annual basis to get in touch to: ensure that that we hold accurate data and to allow you to update your details as required. This data is kept until it is no longer accurate or you ask us to remove it. You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time.

When you pay online, we do not hold any payment data. This is all processed through our provider Sage Pay in line with their privacy policy.

If you participate in user research that is run by us

One of our core services is conducting user research on behalf of our clients with people representative of their customer base. We recruit participants through a 3rd party. The personal data that we collect differs on a project by project basis but is limited to information that helps us recruit the right people for the research.

This data will never be shared with anyone other than the client it relates to and in this case, only with your explicit consent. After we have your consent we will only share data with clients that have committed to protecting your data in the same way as we do.
Personal data collected for research purposes will be anonymised or deleted at the end of the project or within 6 months of the research, whichever comes first. This is a standard procedure in our project close process.

If you sign up for our events or newsletter

We send out a regular newsletter to share knowledge and insights on UX and industry and event news to those that have opted in.
As part of the online registration process, we collect personal information. We keep this to a minimum - only asking for what we need in order to stay in touch.

We use that information for a few reasons: to send you our Webcredible newsletter and to notify you of any Webcredible events; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you're happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations or businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletter. For more information, please see . If you apply for a job with us

If you submit personal data to us in relation to a job application, we will use this data for this purpose only. We'll only use the data to communicate with you during the recruitment process. If your application is unsuccessful we will dispose of your data through confidential means unless agreed with you in advance that we will keep your details on file. If this happens, it will be for a maximum of 2 years and will only be used in relation to recruitment.

If you visit our website

When someone visits us at we use Google Analytics and cookies, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out how visitors are using our site so that we can improve the user experience on an ongoing basis.

This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Access to your personal information
