Why do we do design ideation & sketching?

Design ideation and sketching is a brilliant way to get the design process started:?

  • We use it to plan exactly what role digital should play in supporting your organisational goals, customer experience and digital strategy?
  • Some of the best ideas will come from you and your colleagues - so we create the forum for you to get these out of your heads and into potential design structures, helping ensure buy-in from key stakeholders
  • The only way to have good ideas is to have lots of ideas - our structured and interactive workshops make sure to capture the best of these from us and you

What does design ideation & sketching involve?

We'll set up a war room, ideally at your offices, to allow us to engage with stakeholders and take you on the design journey with us:

  1. First, we'll put your business goals, customer needs and personas up on the walls to continually remind us what we're designing for

  2. We'll create design principles with you, a set of characteristics to underpin all design and user journey decisions we make

  3. Next, we start sketching (and you can join in)! At this stage all ideas are good ideas if they fulfil on business goals and customer needs.?We'll gradually flesh out and refine our sketches and design ideas over the course of a few days or weeks

  4. We'll have dedicated open house slots so stakeholders from across the organisation can drop by, see what we're doing and contribute their ideas (which are typically good ideas as their suggestions will be based on business goals and customer needs)

When is the best time to do it?

Whilst we love sketching and coming up with amazing design ideas, we won't get started until we've established your business goals and customer needs. Once we've got these in place (which could take a few hours or a few months, depending on the scope) then we get going!
