Why do a voice design sprint?

People are engaging more and more with voice user interfaces (VUI) and all the predictions are for these voice assistants to become more and more integrated into our every day lives.?To succeed in this exciting space, it's?important to go back to user-centred?principles.

Our 1-week voice design sprint will help you define the most useful use cases for voice and a high-level voice UI, all based on business goals and user needs.?

To be successful, your voice interface needs to help users achieve a goal,?solve a problem, or provide a moment of?delight - in our 1-week design sprint we'll work really collaboratively with you to define how to get started with voice.?

What do our voice design sprints involve?

Our 1-week sprint gets you from nothing to a voice prototype in just 5 days:?

  • Day 1: Understand - We'll rapidly gather business and user requirements by meeting with: (a) stakeholders to talk through long-term goals and the company vision; (b) customer service staff to learn about top reasons for customer contact; and (c) your tech staff to have them explain infrastructure/APIs/data etc.
  • Day 2: "Sketch" - We'll write out lots of ideas for potential scripts for voice conversations, before role-playing ideas between team members to see what it all feels/sounds like
  • Day 3: Prioritise & storyboard - We'll use our?prioritisation framework to decide what's most appropriate for voice and storyboard in detail the chosen solution
  • Day 4: Prototype - We use a purpose-built tool to create a working prototype for a skill
  • Day 5: Test - We'll run rapid usability testing with target users, validating how well our voice UI is actually working?

We work really collaboratively with you throughout the week, allowing us to make incredible progress.
